Teddy is one spectacular “Super Dog.” Yet, someone still found it possible to throw him away like garbage. Literally. He was found after having been thrown into a garbage dumpster. That is when his rescuer became a “dumpster diver” and changed the path of her and Teddy’s lives…Continue

Normally, when animals leave Animal Ark, it is cause for celebration. But, today, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Karma, and the atmosphere at the shelter was pretty gloomy. Karma was put down this morning.
While we rarely euthanize any animal, it is even more rare that we put down an…Continue

Brynn a 10 year old from Cottage Grove, is a very thoughtful, caring gal. She loves animals, so instead of birthday presents, she asked her friends and family to buy "birthday" presents for the dogs and cats at Animal Ark. She felt that she will have many more birthdays and wanted to make…Continue
This generous girl decided that for her 8th Birthday Party she would ask her friends to bring money, toys & treats for the homeless animals at Animal Ark instead of gifts for her! What a sweet girl....so today she brought in the $$, toys & treat she received & here she is with all the great…Continue

Raja came to Animal Ark from animal control as a puppy back in January of 2004. He was subsequently adopted out several times and each time was returned for being too "puppyish". Go figure! In April of 2004 he went to his forever home and over the course of the next 7 years he enjoyed all the amenities that a dog living the American Dream would come to expect: a wonderful and loving family, walks, a nice big backyard to play in, fellow doggy pals from the neighborhood to hang out with, and…Continue
Here is River with her new family! She is such a sweet girl and will be loved a lot in her new home!
Stan found himself a very energetic FAMILY instead!!!!! They go on daily family walks --which we know Stan will LOVE! The children are home schooled so Stan will have people --big and small--around most of the time! Stan will have to learn a new name though...as they have a Grandpa Stan already and don't want to…Continue

This is a current photo of her in her forever home! I just had to share it with all our Valentine lovers out there. Her coat is so shinny. You can tell from her big brown eyes she is happy with her wonderful family! Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know our sweet Valentine and for loving…Continue
Wolfie has scored a great "foster to adopt" home! She also has Riley their Shepherd puppy to keep in line! They play well together and when Wolfie has had her fill, she simply puts a big paw on the pup to hold her down. As Riley grows...this procedure might be subject to change, however, dogs have been known to…Continue
